The Joe Humphries Memorial Trust receives a cheque for Β£2100 from the 2024 Ratae Road Run.

This years Ratae run saw over 110 cars set off from Broughton Astley. A wide range of vehicles took part, from humble MG Midgets to an Aston Martin DB6! The weather was kind to us as the rain held off until about 4.00pm. All the raffle tickets were sold which adds to the amount we can donate to charity, the club treasurer is busy totting everything up and we will announce soon the final donation. Many thanks to all those who took part and we hope to see you next year! (Ratae Run 2024).

Charity Event:

The Joe Humphries Memorial Trust

Each year South Leicester MG Club hold a charity run. A charity is nominated by the club, and the fee charged covers breakfast cob, tea stop midway, and entry to the final venue. There are sponsors, raffles, poster sales to help raise even more for the chosen cause, which this year is The Joe Humphries Memorial Trust.

The Joe Humphries Memorial Trust has been set up to: break the ‘silence’ on SADS, create a new generation of young life savers and inspire young people. The Trust was set up after the tragic loss of Joe Humphries who died while out jogging with his friend on October 2012. Ratae Run 2024 is proud to support this charity.

Just wanted to drop you a note to say a Big Thank for organising and to all the volunteers that made today such a fun and well organised and smooth day. We had a brilliant time. We will certainly be back next year if we still own Clara Corsa or a different classic car.

    Many Thanks

Good morning, enjoyed the run yesterday.

Pity the weather wasn’t warmer this close to the longest day but a good route for scenery. Very well organised with loads of marshals directing us, and and interesting finish at Statfold – quite close to where we are in Solihull but we had never heard of it πŸ™‚

Thanks to all, we hope to see you again another year,

    Paul and Jenny Hunt.

We are just relaxing after a most enjoyable day out on the Ratae Run. From start to finish the day was well organised, relaxed and friendly. You and your team are to be congratulated for creating the atmosphere, irrespective of the make of car, that made the whole experience memorable. I am well aware of the work that goes into the route and the overall organisation of such an event, and the final destination was the icing on the cake – different and brilliant. ( we did not even know it existed !!! )
Once again many thanks to you and your team for a great day out.
    Regards, Christine & Dougie Kerr.
